MARKETING AND PROMOTION
Medicines are a product category where the information printed on the marketing and promotional material plays a very important role, not just for the doctors who prescribe it or the customers who buy it, but also for the pharmacists who stock it. This information needs to be accurate, up-to-date and unambiguous.
Promotional and patient education literature related to the science behind a product or any Customer Relationship Management activity, scientific seminar, or symposium, are stringently checked by our Product Management team and Team Medical Affairs (TMAs).
Our Professional Sales Representatives (PSR) act as the physical face of Dr. Reddy’s on the field. They bring the primary sales orders from distributors as well as from medical practitioners. We understand that it is very important for our PSRs to be abreast with the latest information on our products. As such, we give them in-depth training in accordance with the standard operating procedure, so that they can communicate effectively with our customers. We give them inputs on product medical background and science, therapeutic profiling, marketing and soft skills. A total of 224,378 man-days of training was provided to trainee professional sales representatives during the reporting year.
We have also incorporated technology in order to keep our field personnel updated with the latest information. We communicate with them through email and have equipped them with handheld devices which give them real-time stock status. In order to further support our PSRs, we have an in-house Medical Affairs Team that addresses queries from Professional Sales Representatives (PSRs) and doctors, regarding our products, within 48 hours.
In the year 09-10, no material needed to be recalled because of errors in medical communication.
