| At Dr. Reddy's, our quest is to become a 'lean' drug manufacturer. To this end our two-step strategy has been to drive down the generation of waste during the manufacturing process and then to dispose of waste efficiently. In order to effectively implement both strategies and to achieve significant waste load reduction, we have formed waste minimisation teams at CTO manufacturing units. |

| During FY 2009-10, the total quantity of hazardous waste disposed was 13,045 tons, a significant reduction of 37% over 2008-09. This decline was on account of a large proportion of hazardous waste being upcycled to cement companies as an alternative fuel. |

The three-year growth
