Efforts to find environment friendly ways to dispose of organic residue have begun to yield results. In 2009-10, over 1,700 metric ton, constituting about 50% of the Company's organic residue generation, was sent to the cement industry for use as auxiliary fuel, and the balance was incinerated. |

Effluent streams containing single salts are identified, segregated at source, taken to separate treatment plant and salts recovered through distillation. These salts (Potassium sulphate, Methyl potassium sulphate and Ammonium sulphate) are then sent to third parties engaged in the manufacturing of potassium based fertilisers. |
