The use of a non-renewable energy source like oil as furnace fuel for steam generation was resulting in emissions from stack. The undesirable aftereffects of this fossil fuel encouraged us to investigate alternative renewable energy sources as a way of alleviating negative environmental impact.
INTERVENTION
We found the answer in a low-cost biomass material, which is the by-product of sugarcane processing - Bagasse. The goal was to use this biomass (Bagasse), which is a readily available renewable source of fuel, for generation of steam in the boiler.

The use of furnace oil has now been discontinued.
Positive impact on both the environment and economic bottom lines.
