The award was presented at the Realty Plus Excellence Awards 2011 event, held in Bangalore, on February 3, 2011. At the first 'CSR Thought Leadership Conclave' organised by Wockhardt Foundation, the CSR arm of the Wockhardt Group, M&M bagged an award recognising the company's outstanding contribution to society through its CSR programs. Industry leaders emphasised the need for corporate India to have focused CSR initiatives, as well as the need for Public Private Partnerships, capacity development and sustainable development, to ensure effective growth in the social sector.
